I’m running to be your Democratic State Executive Committeewoman in Tennessee’s 15 State Senatorial District.
Since I announced my candidacy, the number one question I get is, “Cool. Yeah. What is it exactly that you’re running for?”
Which is a valid question. The Democratic Party in Tennessee remains sort of a mystery to most people these days. But I’m running for the Democratic State Executive Committee, which is essentially the Democratic Party leadership in Tennessee. That’s who makes the decisions for the party at the state level.
There are 66 Executive Committee members, and then officers. The membership is comprised of one man, and one woman, from each of Tennessee’s 33 State Senate District. I’m running in District 15, where our State Senator is currently Paul Bailey, who is running unopposed in the upcoming election.
District 15 consists of Cumberland, Jackson, Putnam, Smith, Van Buren, and White counties. Your State Executive Committee members should be consistently attending those counties’ party meetings, as they are liaisons between the county and the state. They can assist with resources, training, party building, candidate recruitment, and more.
I’m running because here in Putnam County, we’ve essentially figured all of this out on our own. I want to take what we’ve learned and help the other counties in the district, while being a strong voice for rural Tennessee in the TNDP. I believe as a party, we can do more!
You can learn more about me on the Putnam County Democrat’s website, Instagram, or Facebook. I’m also available at votesaratn@gmail.com.
Please consider voting Sara Kruszka on August 6th. Or vote early July 17th – August 1st!
My friend Mack Lunn is running with me for Committeeman, and I hope you’ll check him out on the Putnam County Democrats website (which he helped build!) or Facebook.
